Woodland Park School District (WPSD) partners with Durham School Services to provide transportation for students attending the District's three district-operated schools: Columbine Elementary School, Summit Elementary School, and Woodland Park Jr./Sr. High School.

WPSD recognizes that reliable transportation plays an important role in student attendance and family convenience. Through its partnership with Durham School Services, the District is committed to providing safe, dependable transportation options for students.

Families with students attending Merit Academy should contact the school directly for information regarding transportation options and services available to Merit Academy students.

For transportation questions, route information, or bus registration assistance, please contact Durham School Services at 719-687-4411.

For information regarding transportation fees, please email pharrison@wpsdk12.org.

If you did not sign up for the bus during the online registration process but now need bus transportation for your student(s), please complete the Bus Application and email it to pharrison@wpsdk12.org.

Communication

As planning continues for the upcoming school year, we want to share an update regarding student transportation fees.

For the 2026–2027 school year, the district has decided to maintain current transportation rates to continue supporting families and keep transportation as affordable as possible.

This approach allows us to continue providing safe and reliable transportation service while reviewing long-term operational needs.

The annual student transportation fees for 2026–2027 will be:

  • $75 per individual rider

  • $100 for two riders within the same family

  • $150 family maximum

Free and reduced-fee transportation may be available for households who qualify.

  • District’s Total Expenses: $1, 360, 828

  • Number of Registered Riders: 549 (district-run and charter school students)

  • District's Total Expenses Per Rider: $2,479

AM and PM bus route information for the 2026-27 school year will be posted on the district website once they are finalized.

Transportation costs are reviewed semi-annually as part of the district’s budgeting process, and any future adjustments will be communicated in advance.
