🌌💫 Students in Mrs. Snook’s class have been working hard, learning all about the solar system and space! During their lesson on the Milky Way Galaxy, they explored amazing photos, watched part of a video about galaxies, and ended the day with a fun science craft—creating their own Galaxy bottles! 🚀✨

Students who earned comfortable seating privileges are enjoying bean bag chairs and reading alongside their friends. What a great way to celebrate both learning and community! 💙🦋

🏃‍♀️🐾🏃‍♂️ This past Saturday, September 6, the WPSD - Woodland Park Sr. High School Cross Country team competed in the highly competitive Joe I. Vigil Open in Alamosa! Facing several strong 4A and 5A schools, our Panthers held their own and proved they can race with the best!

🌟 Record Board Highlights:
▫️ Girls – 5 runners are now on the All-Time WPHS Top 20 list: Nora (6), Olivia (10), Landri (11), Lucy (16), and Danielle (18).
▫️ Boys – Titus earned the 11th spot on the All-Time WPHS Top 20 list with a time of 16:44.

🎶✨ The Pride of the Park Marching Band is off to a fantastic start!

Under the direction of Caitlin Braden and assistant director Laura Wilson, our band performed in their first clinic and show at Harrison on Saturday, September 6th. They had a successful clinic, gained valuable experience, and are ready to bring that energy into their next competition!

👏 The boys' team placed 3rd overall, with 3 runners finishing in the Top 20:

🔹 Hawken Starr – 13th
🔹 Josiah Peardon – 19th
🌟 Our lone girl runner, Caydence Canal, also earned a Top 20 finish at 18th place!
💪 On top of that, we had three more boys place in the Top 70, adding great depth to the team’s success.

🏆 Shoutout to our WPMS Wrestling Team! 🤼‍♂️💪 WPMS wrestling is off to a good start! They competed in their first match of the season last week in a Dual against Canon City! We had some big wins and some tough losses, but most importantly, our athletes showed incredible grit, determination, and sportsmanship. 👏🔥 🤼‍♂️ In their tournament last week in Buena Vista the following Panthers had 1st place wins: Garrett Hall, Brady Stewart, Milo Keldsen, Kenadi Pitts, Zayden Davis, and Elijah Green! 🎉 Future Class of 2031 in the House! 🎉 Today, we had a blast welcoming 6th graders from Columbine and Summit Elementaries to our campus! Middle and high school Student Council members gave them the grand tour, showing off everything our school has to offer—band, STEAM, art, choir, woodshop, Spanish, PE, and more! They even got to test out instruments, visit classrooms, and see our amazing library. The day wrapped up with lunch and special performances from our middle school band and choirs—what a way to experience life at our school! We’re already excited to welcome the Class of 2031 next year! 🎶🎨📚

🎶✨ Jingle all the way! Yesterday, our middle school choir and band teamed up with the high school for the annual Jingle Bell Tour! They brought the holiday spirit to Columbine and Summit Elementary Schools and Forest Ridge Senior Living with beautiful performances of Christmas music. 🎄🎷🎤

🏀🎉 Big Congrats to Our Boys Basketball Team! 🎉🏀 Our team brought home the Tri-County League Championship Title with an amazing win in the tournament with a final win against Canon City with a close score of 37-34! What a game! 🙌💪 The hard work, teamwork, and dedication of every player all season truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder! 🏆 Congratulations Panthers! 🔥

📚✨ Mrs. Geist's Language Arts students have been reading Hero, and yesterday they got a special treat—a visit from the book's award-winning, Pikes Peak Region author, Susan Lynn Rottman! 🙌 She shared her inspirations, writing journey, and answered tons of questions from our young readers. She spoke on the influences for creating her characters, how book covers are chosen, the process of writing and writer's block, and encouraged our budding writers. ✍️ Thank you Mrs. Rottman and Mrs. Geist for such a great opportunity! 🌟

They're exploring how to compare ratios, create equivalent fractions, and solve real-world problems with these essential math skills. This isn’t just numbers on a page—it’s math they can use in everyday life! 💡✏️
