2026 Summer School @ WPSD

June 1st - June 23rd, 2026

8:30 am - 11:30 pm Monday – Thursday @ Woodland Park Jr./Sr. High School

Summer School Registration Form - The last day to register is 5/25/2026

What is Summer School? Summer School is an in-person learning opportunity for students who need extra time to master grade-level standards and recapture credits. During this academic program, students will continue to build positive learning habits as they continue grade-level academic work. During this time, teachers will be proctoring exams, running workshops, and providing instruction as needed for the students; however, summer school courses are self-paced, so students may work on their courses at any time of the day, but are expected to be in person during summer bridge hours.

What classes are available during Summer School?

There are 3 main options for courses in summer school:

  1. Credit Recovery

    • Credit recovery courses are designed for students who have failed a class.

    • Credit recovery courses are completed online through Edgenuity, and our on-site teachers assist students as they complete the courses.

    • Credit recovery courses can be assigned to recapture credits as a continuation of any high school course.

    • Students who successfully complete a credit recovery class will see a C on their transcript instead of failing grade. Grade changes will occur in the fall with the building registrar.

    • Students will work through one course at a time during the summer school. Upon successful completion of a course, the student may begin another.

    • Cost per course: $100

  2. Original Credit

    • Original Credit classes are available for students who have not taken the course previously

    • Original Credit classes are completed through our online program, Edgenuity

    • See the WP Jr/Sr HS course catalog for a list of available online courses

    • Cost per original credit course: $300 per 0.5 credit class (semester course).

  3. English/Math Enrichment

    • English/Math Enrichment classes are for 8th graders rising to 9th grade and are meant to help get students further prepared for high school

    • This opportunity is excellent for incoming freshmen, especially those struggling in Math or Language Arts, to get ready for integrated Math 1 and/or English 9 in high school.

    • Cost per course: $100

Bussing

Families are responsible for transporting their child. Unlike previous years, WPSD is not able to offer 2026 summer school transportation. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause.

Fees & Payment - Summer Bridge fees are due by Friday, June 5th

  • The cost to attend 7-8 grade summer school is $100 per student

  • The cost to attend 9-12 grade summer school is $100 per credit recovery/continuation course

  • New courses are $300 for all grades

  • All fees are paid on Infinite Campus via debit or credit card when you register, unless otherwise coordinated with Ms. Owens, Bookkeeper at the Jr./Sr. High School.

  • Student scholarships (50% off the total calculated cost of summer school) are available to those approved. Please reach out to summerschool@wpsdk12.org for more information.

Refunds

At the end of the summer school program, the business office will be notified of students who should receive refunds. Refunds will be granted to those students who paid for a course, but were unable to open and start the course. If a course has been opened and started, no refunds will be granted. Expect to see updated refunds reflected in Infinite Campus under the fees tab at the start of the fall school year.
