National Honors Society

The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools. Students must apply for this organization and meet certain national criteria.

National Honors Society of Sports Medicine

The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship in the area of sports medicine and other fields directly related to sports medicine, to stimulate a desire to render service in the community, to promote leadership, and to assist in the development of character in the students of secondary schools.

The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,900 affiliated secondary schools across America and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts.

Esports offers competitive online gaming. Esports encourages communication and coordination among student-athletes. By playing games, students are able to deepen their levels of interaction and communicate more effectively, readying them for later life.

Knowledge Bowl

Colorado Knowledge Bowl (CKB) is a contest and a celebration of knowledge and learning overseen by a governing body separate from the Colorado High Schools Activities Association.

Marching Band

The WPHS Marching Band competes at the 2A level across the region and is part of CHSAA. Seen at the State Fair parade, the WPHS Homecoming Parade, the Lighter Side of Christmas Parade and the Colorado Springs Veteran's Day parade, this band is growing each year. Join us!

WPHS Mountain Biking Team
Sponsored by James Wiley
The Woodland Park Mountain Bike Team practices and races under the Colorado High School Cycling League. The team begins training in mid-July, with practices and races running through the end of October. Participants should have a mountain bike suitable for trail riding, a helmet, and hydration. Scholarships are available for fees and races through the team as well as the Colorado High School Cycling League.

Musicals and Plays - Panther Players

Woodland Park High School is the only high school in the region to produce two full length musicals and a straight play each year. All students are invited to audition for these productions.

Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a part of our extracurricular programs because it provides a platform for students to explore hand-on science skills and provides a framework for teamwork. It also encourages independent learning and research as well as team learning and research. These skills are vital to succeed in our ever increasing world that is filled with technology and advancements in science.
