Board Work Session – November 16, 2011

CALL TO ORDER
The work session was called to order by President Amy Nieman at 5:30 p.m. with the following members present: Bill Blackburn, Carol Greenstreet, Rick Wetzel, and Mrs. Nieman.  Also in attendance, were Superintendent Bowman, members of DAC, and the District Leadership Team. 

AGENDA
MOTION Blackburn, second Wetzel, to amend the agenda by moving Multi-District Online discussion to the Special Board Meeting portion of the meeting. MOTION CARRIED; Voting Aye – Blackburn, Greenstreet, Nieman, Wetzel.

PRESENTATION ON BOARDS END POLICY ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT TO BOARD & DAC
Assistant Superintendent Linda Murray started off the presentation reviewing the district action plan followed by each building giving their presentation to the Board of Education and members of DAC.  

ADJOURN TO SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
MOTION Wetzel, second Blackburn, to adjourn the work session and begin the special board meeting. MOTION CARRIED; Voting Aye – Blackburn, Greenstreet, Nieman, Wetzel.

MULTI-DISTRICT ONLINE
Discussion took place on whether to move forward with the application process to have a multi-district online.  After discussing all the logistics involved decision was made not to move forward at this time.

MEET & CONFER AGREEMENT
MOTION Greenstreet, second Wetzel to approve the ratification of the Meet & Confer Agreement.  MOTION CARRIED; Voting Aye – Blackburn, Greenstreet, Nieman, Wetzel.

ELECTION CERTIFICATION
MOTION Wetzel, second Blackburn, to accept the ‘Official Election Results’ (Addendum A) issued by Teller County Clerk & Recorder Judith Jamison, certifying the election returns for the Coordinated Election held in Teller County, in the State of Colorado, on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, for the positions of Woodland Park School District Re-2 Board of Education Director District A, Carol Greenstreet; Director District C, Rob Hunt; and Measure 3A. MOTION CARRIED; Voting Aye – Blackburn, Greenstreet, Nieman, Wetzel.

MOTION Blackburn, second Greenstreet, to adjourn the special board meeting at 8:15 p.m.  MOTION CARRIED; Voting Aye – Blackburn, Greenstreet, Nieman, Wetzel.
