The WPMS Drama department performed “Nottingham … A Totally Teen Musical”  March 5 and 6.  Each night, large crowds gathered in the MS commons to see 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students sing and dance to early 1960’s music.

Nottingham, based on the classic tale of Robin Hood, is set in 1961 in a high school divided between the “haves” aka Normans, and the “have not’s” aka the Saxons.  Robin, a glass is half full hula hooping girl, was played by 8th grader Kyla Valenti.  Marion, the son of a diplomat and cousin of the evil John Prince, was played by 8th grader Issac Leigh.  John Prince, class president and BMOC, played by 8th grader Brandon Lau, imposed taxes on the Saxons and tried to ruin Robin’s life.  In the end, John was usurped and the Normans and Saxons joined together.

The show was a huge success, and in true Robin Hood fashion, we are donating $300 of our ticket sales to the Teller County Help the Needy.
