2018 Summit Walk-A-Thon

September 26th

As the only school-sponsored fundraiser, we work to make our Walk-a-Thon fun, energetic, and worthwhile for students, staff, volunteers, and families. 

This year’s theme is “Footsteps for Friendship” 

We will kick off our event on September 12th, and students will be coming home with pledge envelopes.  Students are encouraged to collect flat donations or “per lap” pledges.  Additional information will be coming home with the pledge envelopes.

**There are also student and grade level incentives. Please look out for this information.**

Families are encouraged to come walk with their students!

The schedule is as follows:

9:30-10: 30: Kinder, AM PreK, and Full Day PreK
10:30-11: 30: 2nd and 3rd Grade
12:00 – 1: 00: HEA
1:00 – 2: 00: 1st Grade and PM Preschool
2:00 – 3: 00: 4th and 5th Grade

The money collected at our Walk-a-Thon benefits:

  • Field Trips for Every Grade
  • Before and After School Clubs
  • Summit Studio and Other Classroom Projects
  • Family Engagement Activities and Family Outreach at Summit
  • Facility Improvements (safety items, display boards, outdoor seating etc.)
  • Staff Appreciation

Parking Lot Safety

As we continue to make the days flow more smoothly, please use the following information to help in the parking lot:

  • Flow traffic should pull up along the curb. This means you are staying in your vehicle while you drop your child off or pick them up.
  • If you are walking your child to the door, or you are walking up to meet them, please park in the front lot, side lot or on the road. You should only park in designated parking spots.
  • We have tried to stagger some of our pick up times in order to ease congestion.
    • Preschool pick up is at 3:45
    • Kinder is at 3:50
    • 1st – 5th is at 4:00.

Please be patient while teachers find a rhythm with their students at the end of the day, and we work to tweak the schedule to meet everyone’s needs!
